There are two scholarships of $5,000 each for young women graduating from a high school in Erie or Niagara County. Each must have a grade point average of at least 95 or 3.5/4.0.

This scholarship was originally based on a bequest from Velma Cobb, who passed away in 1996. She had been a member of another branch which had disbanded at the time of her death. When those funds were depleted, the branch voted to continue the scholarship using funds raised mainly by the book sale.
